Simple Principles of the detox diet

In the coming weeks, I would be sharing with you several meal plans, detox diets and weight loss tips for free. As we go on this journey together, there are some simple rules we would need to follow.

RULE NO.1: DO NOT WEIGH YOURSELF

The main aim of the detox diet is not to lose weight, of course you may loose a couple of excess pounds along the way but this shouldn’t be the main focus. We are going to be concentrating instead on getting more energy, sleeping well and feeling good physically and mentally.

Don’t be tempted to jump on the scales everyday, even if your clothes feel looser and you can finally get into those jeans. The number on the scales is not IMPORTANT.

RULE NO.2: DO NOT COUNT CALORIES

This detox diet does not require you to count calories. What it teaches you is eating sensibly so that eventually you will instinctively know how much to eat and what is right for your body. We don’t want to loose all that weigh in 60 days and then gain it all back the month after.

RULE NO.3 : NEVER GO HUNGRY

The main reason many people over eat during or after a crash diet is because they follow diets that confuse the body’s natural appetite control. On this detox diet however you should never go hungry. Sounds too good to be true right, like how do I loose weight and not go hungry at the same time. Well, it really works because the food included in this diet are filling and satisfying.

RULE NO.4: EAT FOODS AS CLOSE TO THEIR NATURAL STATE AS POSSIBLE

This means choosing fresh food whenever possible and eating most of your fruits and vegetables raw. Raw food is full of vital nutrients, pyhto-chemicals and enzymes. Once food has been kept too long or of it has been cooked or processed in any way, its nutritional value plummets.

RULE NO.5: DRINK WATER OR HERBAL TEAS

I can’t stress  this enough, my doctors cure to any ailment is to drink water Lol. Drinking plenty of fluid is absolutely vital as it helps to eliminate water soluble toxins from the body. It also helps to prevent constipation, reduce bloating and encourage clear skin (who wouldn’t want that?).

As a rule of thumb, you need to drink 6 to 8 glasses of water each day ( 1 1/2 – 2 Liters), although you will need more in hot weathers or on days when you are exercising. For that extra flavor have a glass of water with a little freshly squeezed lemon juice or ginger.

If you don’t always fancy water, herbal teas are excellent alternatives. Peppermint, Camomile, dandelion root and earl grey are particularly good as their essential oils help the detox process.

KEEP TO THE RULES AND WE WOULD BE JUST FINE ♥♥♥ *WINK*
